HUZZAH! Congratulations! Whether you made it to 50k or not, you know, we made it through another November! Wow! For those of you new to NaNoToons, WELCOME! I hope you enjoyed your time here! Despite all my complaining, I enjoy this little cast of characters!
And for all of you who are still around after all these years, thank you! It’s my fifth year of NaNoToons. My 10th year of NaNoWriMo. Wow. A lot of you have stuck with us since the beginning! I do read and appreciate all your comments, although I don’t get around to responding to all of them. So thanks again!
And all of this thanks to Debbie Ridpath Ohi. I think I was the one who asked to do collabs and she let me help her with NaNoToons. And then, as her life became busy with fame, I took over. Thanks, Debbie Ohi! ^_^ (She’s going to kill me for that last part).
I must say thanks to Kari for editing the comics. There are a few comics I still need to update with edits. They were the comics I finished and posted way past either of our bedtimes. Hah. Adjective word phrases are hyphened. Who knew. I mean, other than you people well versed in English.
Anyway, Kari is great and she puts up with me. Imagine that I’m a little bit like Rick from NaNoMusical, or a little bit like Rob, or a little bit like Tala. That’s what she puts up with. She’s a trooper! If you are interested in webcomics, she has her own, It Never Rains. It has a plot and has won awards!
I also have a webcomic called My Neighbor Errol. It has not won any awards, has no plot, and pretty much is about me and my family.
And I love to chat on twitter, so if you want to, talk to me at http://twitter.com/elumir!
Again, thank you! I hope you have a great holiday, and I’ll see you next year!
I did like that we got to meet a new cast. Maybe next year we can see an expanded Word War between old and new?
That sounds like an intense battle! ^_^
I’m really going to miss NaNoToons this December, for three reasons:
1) From the hair colors to the beefy arm to the backgrounds to the angled text on November 30th, you’ve taken the artwork places beyond where this cartoon has been before. The characters are still stick-figured (and nothing wrong with consistency), but more is being done than ever before.
2) The focus on Mel led the story to different areas than before, and to fresh takes on some other stuff. Also, the shift away from rabid panic to pure self-doubt was a bit more in line with many people’s thoughts.
3) November 16th. “Write…and I’ll write with you.” THAT is the heart of NaNoWriMo. November 28 is but November 16th writ large.
Tala is going to memorize the entire NaNoWriMo Musical now, isn’t she?
Great series this year. Well, it’s great every year really. 🙂
Hooray Mel!
How about you, Errol? Did you make 50k?
I hope everyone had a great NaNo! See you next year!
I’m still confused about why the word war got cancelled.
I think it was because Peri’s arms got locked up.
Crazy idea time- not exactly related to NaNoToons:
If a full NanoWrimo equates to 50,000 words, and the Nano prefix denotes multiplying by 10 to the power of -9, then does that make a Wrimo (as a supposed measure of wordcount) 50 times 10 to the power of 12 words?
Huzzah for Mel!!! I cannot say the same for me and my buddies. We all failed, but AT LEAST WE FAILED TOGETHER! xD
Another great year tho no trophy for me 😉 I remember Debbie’s NaNoToons too and was so glad you continued them! I would love to see the 2 casts meet more next year 🙂 Happy December everyone!!
why did the word war got cancelled? 😮
I seriously loved this series, Errol. Will you be picking up NaNoToons again this year? I really hope to see more of Mel’s vlogging!
Hi, Dawn! Yes! I am picking up NaNoToons again this year! ^_^
